How do I enter words and clues?

Write one answer and clue on each line, separated by |. For example: EARTH | The planet we live on. Use 1–12 unique answers with 2–15 English letters. Spaces, accents, numbers and punctuation are not supported in answers.

What changes with difficulty?

Easy uses a grid up to 15 × 15 with starting letters and answer lengths. Medium allows up to 20 × 20 with answer lengths only. Hard allows up to 25 × 25 without hints. The actual grid fits your words; clue wording does not change. Generate after selecting a level. The level is kept in saved puzzles and exports.

Why are some words not placed?

Words need matching letters to connect, and surrounding cells must stay clear. The maker tries several layouts within the selected grid limit. Unplaced words are listed above the preview and excluded from printed clues. Try New layout or change your word list.

Where are the answers?

Turn on Answer key above the preview. PDF and Print include the blank crossword followed by a separate filled answer key. PNG includes only the current preview.

Can I save and edit my crossword later?

Yes. Choose Save current puzzle, give it a name and collection, then use Open & edit in My puzzles. The exact grid and clues are saved in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data removes them.

Can I solve the crossword on screen?

This maker creates worksheets for printing or downloading. The preview shows the worksheet and answer key; it does not accept typed answers.
