What is a magic square?

Every row, column and both long diagonals add to the same magic total shown above the grid.

Why is each puzzle solvable?

Each row contains one missing value, so subtracting the visible numbers from the magic total determines the answer. Columns and diagonals confirm it.

What changes with difficulty?

Easy uses 3 × 3 grids, Medium uses 4 × 4, and Hard uses 5 × 5 grids with larger totals.
